Osaka Ebisu Hotel

Osaka Ebisu Hotel

📍 1 Chome-21-2 Ebisuhigashi, Naniwa Ward, Osaka
★★★ 9.0 (537 reviews)

"🚎 Commute: Just a 1-minute walk from Ebisucho Station Exit 3 to the hotel! Super convenient! Dotonbori is only two subway stops away, or about a 25-minute walk. Hygiene: I was personally very satisfied, although the air conditioning had a strange smell for the last two days, not sure why. Housekeeping: They bring fresh towels and bottled water every day! Thumbs up! Honestly, I don't use that many towels, haha. They also clean the room and make the bed on the second day of your stay. Bathroom: It's quite compact, but the shower pressure is excellent, making for a refreshing wash. Taller or larger guests might find it a bit inconvenient. 🤓 In summary: The best choice for solo travelers! If I come to Osaka again, I'd recommend staying at this hotel. It's also very quiet at night; I was worried it might be noisy, but it wasn't at all. The guests in the neighboring rooms were all very considerate. 😇 🥹🥹 A wonderful trip to Osaka!"

MAIDO - DOYANEN HOTELS

MAIDO - DOYANEN HOTELS

📍 Haginochaya 2-10-20, Nishinari Ward, Osaka
★★★ 8.0 (154 reviews)

"This was my first stay at MAIDO, which has two buildings. We stayed in the first one. On our third night, the air conditioner started leaking, and the hotel staff immediately moved us to a room on the 6th floor with an even better view. Although breakfast isn't included, there are plenty of convenient dining options nearby. Initially, I was concerned about the number of homeless people in the area, but they mostly kept to themselves and didn't interact with us tourists. Plus, if we returned to the hotel late at night, we just took a taxi, so everything felt safe. If I ever need a longer stay, I'd definitely consider this place again because the room rates are affordable, making it suitable for extended visits."

"Overall, I really liked it. The only downside was the lack of shelves, nightstands, a closet, or hooks – basically, nowhere to put my belongings. The room is small, but there's definitely space to add a nightstand or install shelves."

Lucky NAMBA OsakaNAMBA

📍 1-10-3 Inari, Naniwa Ward, Osaka
★★★ 8.7 (579 reviews)

"Hotel were offering late checkouts to guests who left 5* reviews, so I feel that the reviews have been artificially inflated by people rating 5* so that they can get late checkout. Location was quite far from the JR Namba station and even further from the metro Namba station. The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom was tiny, kitchenette had a raised lip which was easy to trip over or stub your toes on. However, the size of the room was good, there was a good amount of space. It would be ok to spend a night or two here but I think we were there 5 nights which wasn’t great with the uncomfortable bed. When we checked in we were told a room number of an uncleaned room and had to ring out of hours to swap rooms, but that was all resolved quickly by the hotel. Also to note, the keyboxes didn’t feel very safe/ secure because the codes followed a pattern (so if you knew one you’d know the other rooms), but we didn’t use the lockbox except for when we checked in so it didn’t affect us, but just something to consider. Overall it was ok for a budget hotel but I think the reviews make it seem too good to be true!"

City Plaza Osaka HOTEL & SPA

"Loved our stay at City Plaza Osaka! We used Osaka as a base for our trip, going on multiple short day-trips followed by a longer stay in Tokyo, with one final night in Osaka before heading home. First room was clean and cozy, second room was HUGE and perfect for repacking our checked bag. Both rooms were comfortable and clean with excellent water pressure in the shower. Plenty of nice cafes and restaurants nearby, so didn’t try the hotel breakfast, but highly recommend Osaka Engine (has gluten free ramen options!) for a delicious meal! The FamilyMart downstairs was very convenient, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the onsen was the cherry on top. The hotel location was great, easy walking distance to various metro stations and sights like Osaka Castle. 10/10 would stay again!"

Imperial Hotel Osaka Hotels in Osaka

Imperial Hotel Osaka

"The room was spacious and well-equipped. Although the hotel is a bit old, it's very well-maintained. Upon checking in, a staff member accompanied us all the way to our room. The window offered a view of the Osaka city skyline and a beautiful riverside scenery, perfect for a stroll, and we could watch the sunset from our room. The hotel has an annex, but the shops inside were mostly closed and rundown. There was one restaurant open during the day, with windows facing the river, offering light meals and afternoon tea. The biggest drawback was the inconvenient transportation. There's a free shuttle bus every 20 minutes from outside the Starbucks at JR Osaka Station's Sakurabashi exit, which takes about 15 minutes to reach the hotel. Walking to the nearest subway station takes about seven to eight minutes. There are very few restaurants or shopping malls near the hotel."

"This was a great hotel for a great price. Every night the hotel offers free drinks to all guests. There are loads of nice skincare amenities available and the spa is spotless! Staff are super nice and welcoming, the buffet breakfast offers all the local specialties in case you miss anything. I would definitely stay again!"

KOKO HOTEL Osaka Shinsekai Hotels in Osaka

KOKO HOTEL Osaka Shinsekai

"This hotel is a good choice for families traveling with children. The room was small, but still comfortable enough for one adult and two kids. Some parts of the room could benefit from renovation, but everything was clean and functional. The location is excellent—very close to Dobuen-mae Station, and just a short walk to the popular 通天阁 and the zoo, making sightseeing very convenient. Having a Sugi Pharmacy only a few steps from the lobby was extremely helpful, especially since it offers tax-free shopping. Japan Post was also just an easy five-minute walk away, which was very convenient. Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety and great quality. Overall, a convenient and family-friendly stay with an unbeatable location."

Welina Hotel Premier Nakanoshima East

"20 minutes by feet (5 by subway) to Umeda station and 10 minutes by subway to downtown Dotonbori. Amazing location, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants are all nearby, but at the same time it's a clean and fancy neighborhood close to some parks and great alleys. There is a riverside alley right next to the hotel. I walked to most sights by feet and only had to use subway once since all the main sights are within 30 min walk. The room was barely big for my luggage though."

Osaka Ebisu Hotel ★★★
"The Osaka Ebisu Hotel is a diamond in the rough right smack in the middle of eateries, and souvenir shops. Besides the blood stain on our bed sheet, I would highly recommend that both early check in price and late check out prices are advertised. Usually most hotels would give an extra hour, they did not. So FYI its 2000 YEN per person for an early check in if your rooms available and for a late check out of up to an hour it is 2000 YEN. Gentlemen downstairs with really slow English stuttered at first saying 1000 YEN, but quickly corrected himself to state 2000 YEN. Overall experience was great for a laat minute booking - shower is majestic."

"The location is excellent and very convenient, though the room is a bit small – a common characteristic of Japanese hotels. However, they offer two cleaning options: the 'simple' mode is indeed very basic. The toiletries provided are Kao, not Pola."

"If you're traveling solo, I highly recommend this place. However, for female friends, I wouldn't suggest it. As a hotel, it's a really good single room — clean, hygienic, and I found it quite comfortable. It's about a 10-minute walk to Tsutenkaku Tower, which isn't too bad, and there's a huge Don Quijote nearby."

"I love the location being close proximity to a subway and Shin Osaka station, so convenient if you are doing a day trip to Kyoto. The area is not as busy as Namba or Tennoji which I like. Streets are wide and pavements are in good condition so no issues carrying your luggages. Also lots of konbini and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is quite new and will stay again next time I visit Osaka."

"Great location, very convenient for getting around. It's just a few minutes' walk to Dotonbori, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. They even provided earplugs at check-in because of ongoing construction next door, which was a thoughtful touch, even though I didn't end up needing them."
